Cleanroom Fogger Selection Guide

The best fogger is the smallest system that can deliver interpretable tracer evidence through the real delivery path for the complete study sequence—without exceeding the site’s safety, contamination-control or operational limits.

Use this twelve-field requirement.

  1. Study purpose and governing protocol or standard.
  2. Room, enclosure or equipment type and representative operating state.
  3. Physical dimensions and airflow regime.
  4. Pressure differential and fog-entry pathway.
  5. Required visible distance and observation time.
  6. Number of scenes, interventions and expected repeats.
  7. Hose length, diameter, bends, splitters, wands and outlet geometry.
  8. Water quality and process contamination constraints.
  9. LN₂ availability, staging, transfer and reserve.
  10. Ventilation, oxygen-monitoring and facility EHS constraints.
  11. Camera, lighting, background and retained-evidence requirements.
  12. Schedule, shipping country, training, service and warranty needs.

Does the evidence require LN₂-class density/throw?Continue to architecture selectionEvaluate ultrasonic CRF platforms
Can the site safely support LN₂?ContinueUse non-cryogenic method or redesign study
Is active self-pressurization preferred?AP30/AP50/AP100/AP200 familyEvaluate passive AP35/AP95/AP175
Is enclosure pressure significant?Test delivery pressure/path before sizingProceed with normal delivery-loss review
Are multiple simultaneous outlets needed?Evaluate large/multi-output modelsAvoid oversizing solely for outlet count

Use conservative model matching.

The AP Series selector returns a family-level pathway and hard stops. It does not replace a current quotation. Public specifications can conflict, and output at the fogger is not output at the study point.
